Temperament TestBefore your dog is able to join daycare, they must complete a temperament test. This will allow our trainer to get to know the dog's temperament, make sure they are able to play nicely with other dogs. This can also be used as a means to determine a training plan for your dog.
Before your first day, please complete our daycare temperament test application form below or pick one up at our facility

Structured Daycare
Our structured daycare program is a unique service only offered at Rock River Pet Resort!
Your dog will spend the day playing with their friends in the playgroup and working with one of our three trainers, with a nap/break during the day. Our Structured Daycare gives your pup more structure to their day, gets their brains working, and provides the opportunity to learn basic obedience. Mental stimulation requires just as much or more energy than does playtime in a playgroup, so your pooch will be ready to come home after their day of mental and physical stimulation in Structured Daycare to snuggle and sleep! |
Rates
The Training ProcessWhen your dog first begins Structured Daycare, they will begin with basic obedience and progress in tasks as your dog continues to come to Structured daycare and builds a foundation for learning. The stage of training your dog is in will determine what your dog learns/works on throughout their day of Structured Daycare.
If you are wanting your dog to work on a specific task, please ask one of our trainers.

Regular Daycare

Policies
Temperament Test
Please understand that daycare is not a good option for all dogs depending on their behavior. All daycare participants MUST be able to play nice with human and canine companions alike. This includes when a toy is present during play. Behavioral tests with staff's personal dogs are MANDATORY and must be scheduled prior to your dog coming into daycare.
24 Hour Cancellation
If less than 24 hours notice is given before a cancellation there will be a $15 fee.
Requirements
Before the first day of daycare, your dog must be at least 16 weeks old and have filled out application. Once your dog turns 6 months old, your dog MUST be spayed or neutered per Iowa Law.
In order to ensure the health and safety of all of our pets we require proof of up to date vaccinations: Bordetella, Distemper, Parvo and Rabies
Maximum Capacity
We have a maximum capacity in our daycare, so book ahead! This is so that we are able to give daycare dogs our full attention and so your dog does not get overwhelmed.
Vaccinations
We can't wait to meet your pet! But first, in order to ensure the health and safety of all of our pets we require proof of up to date vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella and Parvo.
Outside Hours Pick Up or Drop Off
Anytime there is a pick up or drop off outside of regular business hours there will be a fee of $15.
Warnings
Once your dogs has been accepted into the daycare program, problems and behaviors may still arise. We have implemented a "Warning Policy" to keep our Daycare Group safe.
First Warning is to make you aware that your dog is having some issues in daycare and they will be put in time out for the rest of the day following the incident.
Second Warning will be to make you aware that your dog is still having issues and that your dog might need some work at home or with a trainer, this also requires a 1 (one) week break away from daycare.
Third Warning means your dog is suspended from daycare for 6 (six) months. Once the 6 month suspension is completed, you may bring your dog back in for another temperament test.
